NC Old 18 - South Mountains

Old 18 is an hour northwest of Charlotte, NC heading towards the Blue Ridge Parkway. It’s and a nice curvy road leading through the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. You can turn off about half way and head up to South Mountains State Park. It’s a beautiful, lush area with very little traffic. If you stop and listen you can usually hear a motorcycle tearing through the many twisties on this fantastic route. It’s only 10 minutes from my house and makes a great lunch break run. About half way up they built this grey metal building with a loading dock and some shade which makes for some nice photos!
